6 Tips to Losing Weight Without Dieting
It is possible to be successful at losing weight, even if you have tried weight loss diet after weight loss diet, and only gained more weight in the end. The key is to take it slowly and rather than embarking on a weight loss diet, change your eating lifestyle. There are 6 easy tips to follow which can help you be more successful than you have ever been with any weight loss diet:
(1)Never begin a weight loss diet.
Do not diet, instead simply decide that you are going to eat more healthful. Starting a weight loss diet is like planning to fail; when we begin a weight loss diet plan we say to ourselves that we are going to avoid all of the foods that we most love until we look like we want to look. Depriving ourselves, however, simply makes us unhappy and more desperate to have the forbidden food, and we immediately begin to spiral towards failure. Instead of embarking on a weight loss diet plan, decide that you are simply going to make changes in your eating habits that will make you more healthful.
(2)Eat more often.
Many people try to lose weight by using a weight loss diet that limits food intake to the point of only eating one or two meals a day. The ironic thing here is that eating so few times per day actually makes a human body believe that it is starving and thus causes it to shift its metabolism into preservation mode, burning fewer calories. This means that someone on an extreme weights loss diet has less energy and expends fewer calories. Instead, eat four to five small meals a day, which keeps your metabolism going strong and gives you plenty of energy.
(3)Stay hydrated.
Drink plenty of water and other drinks that have no sugar or caffeine. This keeps you hydrated which helps your body burn fat and remove waste. It also provides oral satisfaction, especially if you drink water with lemon, decaffeinated coffee or tea, and other low calorie healthful drinks. Avoid sodas and excessive juice.
(4)Reduce your intake of fatty foods.
Do not give anything up; do not be on a weight loss diet. Do not swear off French fries or give up fried chicken. Instead, limit these things. Try to choose healthier options more often, but allow yourself to indulge in French fries from your favorite fry place or fried chicken at your mom’s house on Sunday. It is all about moderation.
(5)Reduce your intake of sugary foods.
Just like the above step, do not give up your favorite ice cream, chocolate or cookies. Instead, limit them. Choose one day a week to indulge in your favorite dessert then look forward to that indulgence as a reward every week. If you want a cookie, eat one cookie while you can handle just one; if you deprive yourself completely you are likely to lose your discipline and end up eating the entire box.
(6)Reduce your portion size.
Eat less. Yes, it really is that simple. Again, this is not to suggest depriving yourself totally like some weight loss diet, it just means that you have to learn to eat less food in a single sitting. If you go to a restaurant, ask for a carryout container immediately and place half of your food into it before you even begin to eat. You may be surprised that after only a few days you realize that half of what you usually eat is actually enough to satisfy you.
